Adding Video Clips

Adding video clips to your demos is a very easy process, and there are a couple of ways you can go about it.

  1. Upload a pre-recorded video clip into an existing demo, or

  2. Use the Storylane extension to record a video to existing demo.

Note: Video clips can only be added to an existing screenshot demo.

Adding a Pre-recorded Video

Once you're in the demo editor

Step 1: Click on "Add Step" to open up the Guides panel. Then, choose "Add Video Clips". The following pop-up will appear.

Step 2: Next, click on the "Upload Videos Manually" button. A drag-and-drop dialog box will open up where you can add pre-recorded videos.

Using the Storylane Extension to Record Videos

Step 1: Go to the URL/ screen you wish to record and click on the Storylane chrome extension.

Step 2: Click on "Add to existing demo" to open up the list of all your saved demos. Select the one in which you wish to add the video clip.

Step 3: Now, in the same window, three new options will appear at the bottom. Click on "Add Video". This will immediately start recording all the movements and animations that happen on the said URL.

Step 4: Once you're done recording, click on the extension again and hit the "Stop Recording" button.

Inside the demo editor, you also get an option to trim the video clips, once you're on the Video step. The best thing about it is while you can trim your videos the way you want, the original video stays in the video library, to be used multiple times.
