Customizing and Tracking Demo URL Links

Storylane allows you to create personalized and trackable demo experiences using various parameters in your demo links. Below is a guide to the available options:

1. Email Tracking

If you'd like to track who is viewing the demo without requiring them to complete a form, you can append an email address to the demo link.

Example:

https://app.storylane.io/demo/tc1vupmgcxtd?email=maria@storylane.io

Use Case:

  • Great for tracking specific users who access the demo via a direct link or email campaign.

2. Personalization with Tokens

To personalize your demo, you can use tokens. Add as many tokens as you need, and they will be automatically populated when sending an email campaign.

Example:

https://app.storylane.io/demo/tc1vupmgcxtd?token[first_name]=Maria&token[last_name]=Nicolae

Use Case:

  • Perfect for creating tailored demo experiences by including the viewer's name or other relevant details.

3. UTM Parameters for Lead Tracking

Use UTM parameters to track the source of your leads. These parameters are visible in Storylane analytics and can also be sent to your CRM. Storylane captures UTM data from both the demo link and the page where the demo is embedded.

Example:

https://app.storylane.io/demo/tc1vupmgcxtd?utm_source=googleads

Use Case:

  • Ideal for understanding the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and lead sources.

4. Redirect to a Specific Flow

Redirect viewers to a specific chapter within the demo by specifying the chapter number at the end of the link.

Example:

https://app.storylane.io/demo/tc1vupmgcxtd?chapter=2

Use Case:

  • Useful when directing users to a particular part of the demo, such as a specific feature or workflow.

5. Hide Guided Steps

For a sandbox experience without guided steps, use the hide_all=true parameter.

Example:

https://app.storylane.io/demo/tc1vupmgcxtd?hide_all=true

Use Case:

  • Best for users who want to explore the demo independently without guidance.
