### **1. Media to Demo**

Turn any product media into an interactive demo - without rebuilding it from scratch.

Upload any video or images, and Storylane's AI will analyze the content, split it into steps, add guides, and optionally generate a voiceover. The result is a fully structured interactive demo ready to share or edit.

👉 **Plans and credits**

Video to demo uses credits. The number of conversions available depends on your plan - higher plans include more credits.

{% hint style="info" %}
Exact credit limits per plan are being finalized and will be updated soon.
{% endhint %}

👉 **What makes a good source video**

* Clear screen recordings with visible UI interactions
* Consistent pacing - avoid long pauses or jump cuts
* A single focused workflow per video (one feature, one use case)
* Narration helps the AI generate more accurate step text

Export it as MP4 and use it here to turn it into a shareable interactive demo.

### **2. Mac App**

With the **Storylane Mac app for desktop**, you’re no longer limited to browser-based recording. Capture any screen, any app, any workflow — perfect for multi-app navigation and non-web product demos.

### **4. Figma Plugin**

Turn your Figma designs into interactive demos with [Storylane’s Figma plugin](https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1507703501417492521/storylane-turn-figma-into-ai-interactive-demos). This is a great way to validate ideas before writing a single line of code. Instead of waiting weeks for dev cycles, share clickable mockups with voiceovers, guides, and CTAs to gather real feedback and engagement data.

#### **How it works**

1. [Install the plugin](https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1507703501417492521/storylane-turn-figma-into-ai-interactive-demos)
2. Export frames
   1. All frames \[<mark style="color:$success;">Recommended</mark>]
   2. Or only selected frames
3. Select create new demo and you're all set!

<figure><img src="/files/TSDjkcBjIO1fi5qnbcVg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Ensure that every image and video added to your demo share identical dimensions for optimal appearance.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### **5. Mobile Demos**

There are a few ways to capture mobile apps and screens for your interactive demos. Here's a rundown:&#x20;

#### 👉 <mark style="color:$success;">\[Recommended]</mark> **Screen Share or Wired Connection**

* Connect your mobile device to your Mac using **screen share** [(iPhone Mirroring)](#using-iphone-mirroring-mac-iphone) or a **wired connection**
* Record mobile screens directly from your desktop/laptop using Storylane’s desktop app

#### 👉 **Using iPhone Mirroring (Mac ↔️ iPhone)**

***Best for capturing clean, smooth demos of your mobile app.***

To use iPhone Mirroring, make sure your devices meet all Apple requirements:

* **Mac:** Apple silicon or Apple T2 chip, running **macOS Sequoia 15+**
  * Live Activities requires **macOS Tahoe 26+**
* **iPhone:** iOS **18+** with a passcode enabled
* Both devices signed into the **same Apple ID** with **two-factor authentication**
* **Bluetooth + Wi-Fi** on for both devices
* iPhone must be **locked and near your Mac** (charging + StandBy also works)
* Mac cannot be using **Internet Sharing, AirPlay, or Sidecar**
* iPhone Mirroring must be available in your **region**
  * *Note: Currently unavailable in the EU*

Once enabled, open the **iPhone Mirroring** app on your Mac and begin capturing as usual.&#x20;

Here's a quick walkthrough:

#### 👉 **Mobile-friendly view from a web browser:**

If your product is mobile-responsive and can be viewed in a desktop browser, you can capture a mobile-sized view directly from your laptop.\ ***(Example: Viewing Airbnb.com in mobile view from Chrome.)***

{% embed url="<https://www.loom.com/share/bd0847e5227d4054a9d094ee6d3cf9c5?sid=7a51d550-614e-4982-8f4b-2a73d64590d4>" %}

#### 👉  Manual screenshot + upload

* Take screenshots directly from your mobile device
* Upload screenshots to Storylane to create your demo

### **6. Manual upload**

You can always directly upload screenshots, videos, and GIFs directly into Storylane as shown below. Manual upload is a great option if you're using non-Chromium browsers like Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Opera. Note that manual upload is not applicable to HTML demos, only screenshot demos.

<figure><img src="/files/BIxfcNNPoH9SKc3z7PjP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is particularly useful in scenarios where you may not have direct access to live product screens you want to capture.&#x20;

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.storylane.io/recording-demos/other-recording-options.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
