Manual Uploads (without using the Chrome extension)

While the Chrome extension is a convenient tool for creating Storylane demos, you have the flexibility to manually create a demo without it.

This can be done by uploading your images or videos. Additionally, this approach allows you to incorporate other media into your demos during editing.

Particularly useful in scenarios where you might not have direct access to the product you want to demonstrate, and you want to manually upload these screens to Storylane.

Storylane Desktop App for Mac

With the Storylane Desktop App for Mac, you’re no longer limited to browser-based recording. Now, you can capture any screen, any app, any workflow—perfect for multi-app navigation, product walkthroughs, and high-quality demos.

Getting Started

  1. Download & Install – Grab the Storylane Desktop App for Mac.

  2. Start Recording – Launch the app and begin capturing your screen.

  3. Showcase Your Demo – Share your recording instantly with your audience.

Storylane Figma Plugin

Turn your Figma designs into interactive, AI-powered demos with Storylane’s plugin — so you can validate ideas before writing a single line of code. Instead of waiting weeks for dev cycles, share clickable mockups with voiceovers, guides, and CTAs to gather real feedback and engagement data.

Test messaging, get stakeholder buy-in, and kill low-signal features early.

It’s a faster way to decide what’s worth building: Design → Demo → Decide.

Ensure that every image and video added to your demo share identical dimensions for optimal appearance.

Mobile Demos

👉 Using a Mobile App

Capturing demos for Storylane on mobile is easy! Here’s a quick and simple guide to help you get started:

  • Take Screenshots: Open your app and capture screenshots.

  • Upload to Storylane: Just upload the screenshots to your Storylane demo.

👉 Mobile View in a Desktop Browser

If your product is mobile responsive and can be viewed in a desktop browser:

  • Watch this Loom Video: Follow the steps in this video to capture a mobile view

This can be done on a monitor or laptop/desktop

👉 No Mobile App? Not Mobile Responsive? No Worries!

If your product doesn’t have a mobile app and isn’t mobile responsive:

  • Using Screenshots:

    • Open the demo on a mobile-sized screen. It should display correctly.

      • You can also switch to landscape mode for a better view.

        • Enable “Mobile View.” This will prompt users to rotate their device.

  • Using HTML:

    • Go to Settings > Auto-scale Demo.

    • Toggle the setting ON. This will adjust the demo for mobile viewing automatically.

With these tips, you can easily capture mobile-friendly demos for your product. Happy capturing!
