Adding video clips to your demos is a very easy process. You can do this by following these steps to add videos to an existing demo:
Upload a pre-recorded video from your device.
Add from other demos you’ve already created.
Capture from extension to record a new video using the Storylane Chrome extension.
We suggest combining SHORT videos with screens to make your interactive demo even more impactful. On the other hand, adding longer videos can result in lower engagement.
Once you're in the demo editor:
Step 1: Click "Add Step" in the demo editor to start adding a new step. Navigate to the "Videos" tab in the demo editor. Click the +New button to add a video.
Step 2: Choose the 'Click to Upload' option in following modal.
Step 3: Next, a drag-and-drop dialog box will open up where you can add pre-recorded videos.
To ensure an optimal experience, keep the video and image dimensions the same.
To reuse videos from other demos:
Step 1: In the Videos tab, click +New and select "Add from other Demos."
Step 2: Choose the video from your library and click "Add".
This allows you to reuse existing videos across multiple demos without needing to upload them again.
Step 1: Go to the URL/ screen you wish to record and click on the Storylane Chrome extension.
Step 2: Click on "Add to existing demo" to open up the list of all your saved demos. Select the one to which you wish to add the video clip.
Step 3: Now, in the same window, three new options will appear at the bottom. Click on "Add Video". This will immediately start recording all the movements and animations that happen on the said URL.
Step 4: Once you're done recording, click on the extension again and hit the "Stop Recording" button.
Storylane's video feature smartly captures only key mouse and keyboard actions, like scrolling and typing, for clutter-free, efficient demos.
